Outdoor Activities

Activity Field & Amphitheater

This large grass-covered field is perfect for all kinds of active games – soccer, softball, ultimate frisbee, dodge ball and more. At one side of the field is a campfire and amphitheater that can seat approximately 100 people for group devotionals, evening firesides, or marshmallow & hotdog roasts.

Basketball & Volleyball

Play basketball or volleyball on the outdoor court close to Huckleberry Chalet and Blueberry Pavilion.

Carpetball

Carpetball table is a social game that can bring people together as you try to outmaneuver your opponent’s balls. Any age and skill level can play.

Gaga Ball

Gather your group ’round the gaga pit for fast-paced fun! This dodgeball-like game levels the playing field, as no particular skill guarantees a win, yet it does take some strategy, luck, finesse and even teamwork.

Hiking

With over 900 acres to explore and over eight miles of hiking trails and pathways, Spruce Lake offers your youth group great opportunities for getting out in God’s fantastic creation! From the Youth Campus, you’ll have easy access to a favorite trail that goes to the Spruce Mountain scenic lookout and waterfalls. Trail distances range from approximately 1/2 to 2 miles.

Ice Skating

The Wilderness Pond is perfect for ice skating and broom or ice hockey in the winter months – weather permitting, of course. You may bring your own equipment or rent ours.

Nine-Square-in-the-Air

Adjacent to the Youth Campus dining hall and swings, the outdoor nine-square court is in the perfect spot for building a sense of group community. This combination of traditional four-square and volleyball is fast-paced, fun, and ideal for any skill level.

Snow Tubing

Our tubing hill is quite close to the Youth Campus and, weather permitting, will provide hours of slippery fun! Snow tubes are provided, free of charge.
