Insights gained can develop interpersonal communication and cooperation needed for life — home, church, school and work. Challenge Initiatives: For younger groups or those with fewer people.
Challenge Initiatives - CI
Challenge Initiatives is short program that involves teamwork and games using beanbags, hoops, tarps, poles, etc. to teach team building skills and concepts. This would be appropriate for younger groups or groups with less time.
Time: 1.5 hours.
Ages: 8 + years.
Group Size: 8 - 14.
Adventure Challenge Course - ACC
The Adventure Challenge Course is designed for younger participants. It involves two or three challenge "initiatives" using bean bags, hoops, ropes and other props to teach initial team building skills and concepts. As the group progresses, they move through a series of 2 or 3 more challenging "elements," involving swinging tires, walls, beams, ropes, platforms, and teeter-totters. Time is taken during these activities to discuss and learn from the group's approach to solving the challenge presented. Communication, leadership, cooperation, patience, goal setting, analysis and planning are some of the team attributes addressed during the challenge course.
Time: 2.5 hours.
Ages: 8 to 11 years
Group size: 8 – 14.

Cliff Rappelling - CR
Cliff RapellingA beautiful view sets the stage for rappelling 55 feet off the overlook precipice atop Spruce Mountain — but first comes a strenuous hike to the cliff. Ideal for beginners, you'll learn the basics of descent control. You'll always be on belay by the facilitator, who will verbally guide you as needed.
Time: 3 – 3.5 hours
Age: 12 + years
Group size: 8 - 13

Climbing Tower - CT
Climbing TowerOur 40-ft. outdoor tower offers various routes and levels of challenge, with obstacles and a significant overhang. Up to three people may climb at one time. You'll learn proper climbing techniques, set personal goals and receive encouragement from your group.
Time: 1.5 - 2 hours
Age: 8 + years
Group size: 12 - 24

Climbing Wall - CW
Climbing WallThe indoor climbing wall provides a less difficult alternative to our climbing tower. Goal setting, effort, determination and encouragement are issues addressed on the climbing wall.
Time: 1.5 - 2 hours
Age: 8 + years
Group size: 12 - 20

Bouldering Wall - BW

Time: 1.5 hours
Age: 5 + years
Group size: 8-15 ...larger groups may request Bouldering Wall and Climbing Wall as a combined activity.

Indoor High Ropes - iHR
Indoor High RopesOur indoor high ropes course, "Jacob's Ladder and the Wild Woosey," puts you to the test of working with a partner to climb the 25-ft. high ladder with rungs that get increasingly further apart. Once on the platform at the top of the climb, you and your partner will step out onto twin cables that also get further apart! This activity builds communication skills, cooperation and creative thinking.
Time: 3 – 3.5 hours
Age: 12 + years
Group size: 8 - 16

Mini Zipline - MZL
Mini ZiplineOn this shorter version of our "big" zipline, you'll sail from a platform high in a tree 200 feet across the Wilderness Camp pond! The harness, rope and pulley system are like those used on the long zipline. It's a great way for kids to think about faith, fears, and how to encourage and treat others.
Time: 1.5 hours
Age: 8-11 years
Group size: 8 - 15
Weight/Height Limit: riders must be less than 5'6" tall and weigh not more than 140 lbs. to participate.
Indoor Power Swing - iPS
Indoor PowerswingA fantastic thrill ride for the young and young at heart. The participant is attached to a long cable connected to the ceiling of the Program Center. A team of people then pulls the participant 25 feet up to the ceiling rafters. Then suddenly, with the release of a special clip, the rider swings in a giant arc, up to the ceiling and back again! Back and forth the rider swings. Riders get to choose how high they want to be pulled. Faith and fun are emphasized in this activity.
Time: 1.5 - 2 hours
Age: 8 + years
Group size: 8 - 24
Outdoor Power Swing - oPS
Outdoor PowerswingOn this outdoor version of our popular indoor Power Swing, a participant is attached to a giant cable between two massive oak trees. Time: 1.5 - 2 hours
Age: 8 + years
Group size: 8 - 24

Vertical Playpen - VP
Vertical PlaypenThis climbing element, located on the back side of the Climbing Tower, requires two people to work together to climb up and over a net, a beam, huge tire, ladders and rope to a platform more than 30 feet high. There are ways to adapt the climb to varying ability levels, but all climbers need determination, perseverance and cooperation to make the final goal.
Time: 1.5 - 2.5 hours
Age: 12+ years
Group size: 10 - 16

Zipline - ZL
ziplineFrom a platform about 15 feet high in a tree, you'll fly 25-30 m.p.h down a 500-foot cable! Here the focus is on that "step of faith."

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
All activities are "Challenge by Choice", which means that all participation in any Adventure Activity is strictly voluntary, and that participants set their own level of challenge ahead of time.
All "high" adventure activities utilize a professional belay (safety rope) system and trained facilitator.
Each activity includes a facilitator led "wrap-up" that challenges participants to look more deeply into the Christian faith.
Each participant must complete and sign a medical / release form.
Please see rate sheet for current rates.
Rates are per person, per individual activity. A person doing a second climb, for example, would be charged for the second climb.
Adventure Activity charges are added to your group bill. Make payment at office.
